The City of Burlington is committed to offering safe, inclusive, and quality opportunities for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. Our programs focus on recreational activities that will encourage participants to have age appropriate fun.
Choosing the right program is important to your child's success. Check out our program descriptions for the program that's right for you. Program hours can be found in the Live and Play guide. Please contact the diversity team to arrange a visit to our programs. Please note that changes in programming may occur due to uncontrollable factors.
Our programs are facilitated by high school, university and college students with training in recreational leadership, safety and supervision, and behavior management techniques. Two members of our staff work with a group of eight participants. Program locations are shared with multiple user groups, programs and patrons.
We want to ensure that all participants are supported based on their individual needs. The City of Burlington uses a specialized intake process, in collaboration with Community Living Burlington, to assess and determine the level of support that a participant will need within our programs. This intake process helps us to better understand and meet your needs.
Upon registering for a City of Burlington Diversity Program, you will be contacted to set up an intake meeting, at which time you will be able to provide us with all necessary information to ensure you or your child's success in our program.
