Mayor Marianne Meed Ward invites you to submit your favourite photos of Burlington’s stunning landscapes, from Lake Ontario sunrises to Niagara Escarpment views and serene trails.
The Mayor’s 2025 calendar will feature selected photos showcasing Burlington’s natural beauty. Photographers chosen will earn a $100 honorarium, receive full credit, and be recognized at a ceremony hosted by Mayor Meed Ward.
Deadline for submissions is Friday, Dec. 6, 2024.
Recognition ceremony will take place at City Hall on Monday, Dec. 16, at 4:30 p.m.

Please come and connect with the Mayor at her next Drop In at Burlington Centre on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..
Come on by, meet the Mayor, and share your thoughts on how to improve Burlington. Meetings will be on a first-come, first-served basis for around ten minutes. Mayor Meed Ward will be located close to the elevator on the first floor of the mall, not far from the food court and Old Navy.

Mayor Meed Ward is hosting the second session of her Speaker Series on Tuesday, Nov. 12, exploring themes of growth, development and affordable housing.
This session is entitled “Growth is Coming: What’s In It For You?” The Mayor will be joined by three expert panelists: Jesse Helmer, Senior Research Associate at the Smart Prosperity Institute; Jeff Neven, CEO of Indwell; and Terri Johns, President & Founder of Landwise.
The discussion will be focused on managing growth, maintaining a high quality of life, and ensuring no one is left behind. We will hear from each panelist with time for a Q&A session with the audience.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a tradeshow in the lobby. The main event begins at 7 p.m.

Investing in our Community Now and for Future Generations
Burlington City Council approved the 2023 Budget at our meeting earlier today (Feb.14). There is no question this budget presented a challenge to staff, Council, and residents, but it also presented a clear opportunity to make our city better – not just for the next few years, but for future generations.
This budget makes key investments in community centres at the former Robert Bateman school site and new Skyway community centre and arena; as well as in park improvements; active transportation including cycling, walking and transit; coyote response to ensure public safety; more bylaw enforcement to improve quality of life; automated speed cameras to reduce speeding on local roads; and preserving our free Beachway parking pass program for Halton residents.
