Burlington, Ont.—May 10, 2018—The City of Burlington is contributing $20,636 to five community projects as part of this year’s Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund program.
The selected groups will receive up to 50 per cent of their project funding from the city, up to a maximum of $5,000. The community groups behind each project will then match this funding with an equal contribution made through any combination of volunteer hours, donated services, donated materials and supplies or other funds raised, such as cash donations.

Burlington, Ont.—May 8, 2018— This spring, the City of Burlington is introducing several new parking initiatives designed to make it easier for users to find and pay for a parking space in downtown Burlington.
These initiatives include:
Occupancy sensor technology Throughout 2017 and 2018, the City of Burlington installed occupancy sensors in Burlington’s downtown, at every on-street parking space and all parking spots at city-owned parking lots. Burlington, Ont.—May 7, 2018— The Burlington Student Theatre is celebrating 40 years in drama, music, dance and creativity. It is located in Optimist Park and is home to the longest-running youth theatre program in Burlington.
The theatre’s show, Little Shop of Horrors, performs at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre on May 24 and 25 during the recently proclaimed Student Theatre Week, which is from May 21 to 27.
Student Theatre Week helps to promote the positive role that arts programs in Burlington have played in maintaining the health and wellness of our young citizens. Programs such as the Burlington Student Theatre contribute to the life and vibrancy of the arts in Burlington.
Productions such as Little Shop of Horrors are successful thanks to the skills, community involvement and demonstration of leadership by volunteers, students and alumni.

Burlington, Ont.—May 7, 2018— Burlington adults aged 19+ and 55+ will be able to register for Summer Live and Play programs on May 12 at 9 a.m. Registrations are accepted online at burlington.ca/play or in-person at any city facility.
The City of Burlington’s Spring/Summer 2018 Live and Play Guide, featuring listings for recreation, sport and culture programs, was originally distributed in January and can now be found in city facilities including recreation centres, Burlington Public Library branches and City Hall, as well as online at burlington.ca/play.
The city offers a variety of registered and drop-in programs for all ages and abilities.
Non-residents aged 19+ and 55+ can register for summer Live and Play programs on May 18 at 9 a.m.
