Mayor Rick Goldring’s eighth annual Mayor’s State of the City Address, hosted by the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, will include many opportunities for audience participation.
The address takes place starting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Burlington Convention Centre. Mayor Goldring will speak to a crowd of more than 400 about how Burlington continues to be a vibrant city, one of Canada’s safest cities, and the No. 1 mid-sized city in Canada, according to MoneySense.
Mayor Goldring will share positive economic news, and talk about how the economic development team will attract employers to our city. He will outline how Burlington is growing, how we continue to say no to urban sprawl and how Burlington protects what matters most to those who live and work in this city.

Burlington, Ont. – Jan. 18, 2018— The City of Burlington continues to share facts about the proposed new Official Plan and Burlington’s Downtown Mobility Hub in a series of Ask Grow Bold videos and on an Ask Grow Bold webpage.
The videos, webpage and ongoing information are designed to provide more clarity, additional information and to answer the most commonly asked questions about growth in Burlington. Ongoing information will include a daily fact about growth in Burlington posted on the city’s social media channels.

February is Heritage Month and residents are invited to learn more about the events and issues that have led us to modern-day Burlington by attending some of the many great and informative sessions planned throughout the month.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a public art master plan review should be worth millions. The City of Burlington is looking to gather feedback into the Public Art Master Plan.
Residents are invited to provide feedback through a standard online survey and through a mapping tool to show where they would like to see public art, or attend one of the public drop-in sessions. The online tools can be found at burlingtonpublicart.com/master-plan-review and will be open until Feb. 2, 2018.

The City of Burlington is launching the Burlington Arts and Culture Fund (BACF), an annual program that provides grants to local artists, multicultural groups and arts and culture organizations to foster creativity and enrich how Burlington residents experience and engage with arts and culture.
Applications will be accepted until Feb. 28, 2018 and will fund projects from April 2018 to April 2019. Successful grant applicants will be announced at the end of March 2018.
