Park Amenities Reopening for 2025 Summer Season

As we welcome the warmer weather, the City is excited to announce the opening of several park amenities. 

Opening Dates and Updates:
  •  All tennis/pickleball courts are open for use.
  • All park washrooms will be open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. from May 10 until October 13, 2025.
    • This includes portable washroom units at Burloak Park and Spencer Smith Park and port-o-lets at Beachway Park, LaSalle Marina and Kerncliff Park
    • Orchard Park and Norton Park washrooms will only be open for permitted times.
  • Drinking fountains and bottle filling stations are in the process of being turned on and will all be operational by May 16 or sooner.
  • Mobimats at the Beachway Park will be placed out starting on May 10.
  • Splash pads will be opening beginning May 17 and will operate daily from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. The opening of splash pads is expected to take approximately one week, with all splash pads open by May 24.

Outdoor tennis and pickleball courts reopening for the 2025 season

With warm weather ahead, all City of Burlington outdoor tennis and pickleball courts will be opened and ready for use as of Saturday, March 29, 2025.

Recreational Facility Closures - Feb. 16

Update, Feb. 16, 5 p.m.:

Recreational facilities will be opening Monday, Feb. 17 at 9 a.m. Drop-in recreation programs will resume and facilities will be open for scheduled rentals.

The Burlington Rotary Centennial Pond will open tomorrow, weather and ice conditions permitting. Residents are encouraged to call the ice conditions hotline at 905-335-7738, ext. 8587 before leaving to make sure the Pond is open.

In anticipation of significant snowfall and to ensure the safety of residents and staff, the City of Burlington’s recreational facilities will be closed on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. All recreation programs and rentals have been cancelled.  

The City of Burlington makes every effort to keep our facilities open during regular business hours; however, when unsafe weather conditions occur, the City must close facilities. Facility Closure Update - Feb. 13

Due to the inclement weather and high volumes of snow overnight, City rec facilities will remain closed until noon today (Feb. 13). City registered and drop-in programming will resume at noon. If facilities remain open and a course needs to be cancelled (for example the instructor unable to arrive safely), staff will make every effort to contact participants in advance. For drop-in programs attendees check www.burlington.ca/dropinandplay  

The Rotary Centennial Pond at Spencer Smith Park remains closed at this time.

City Hall, Sims Square and Halton Court Service will reopen on schedule at 8:30 a.m.

The Downtown Transit Terminal will reopen at 9 a.m.
