Sound of Music Festival Road Closures

The 40th annual Sound of Music Festival is taking place over two weekends: June 8 and June 14 to 16, 2019. To meet the needs of the festival, road closures are noted below. Streets will re-open as soon as possible after the parade on June 16. Vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be tagged or towed for emergency access.
Road Closures
- Friday, June 14 from 3:30 p.m. to Sunday, June 16 at 6 p.m.: Brant Street from Caroline Street to Lakeshore Road.
Parade Closures
Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the following streets will be closed:
- Baldwin Street from Hurd Avenue to Brant Street
- Brant Street from James Street to Baldwin Street
- Drury Lane from Courtland Drive to New Street
- Caroline Street from Drury Lane to Elizabeth Street
- James Street from Brant Street to Elizabeth Street
Parking Restrictions Posted
- Please do not park in restricted areas
- See parking rules at each pay machine
Supervision
- Road closures will be managed under the supervision of the Halton Regional Police Service
Moon in June Road Race Road Closures

The 28th annual Moon in June Road Race has a one-km kids’ race at 6:30 p.m. and 5k and 10k races beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. These races require road and lane closures in Burlington. Streets will reopen as soon as possible following the end of the race. Vehicles parked illegally in the area will be tagged or towed to allow emergency access.
Road Closures
- James Street between John Street and Brant Street will be closed to traffic between 4:30 and 11:30 p.m.
- Brant Street between Ontario Street and Elgin Street will be closed to traffic between 5 and 11:30 p.m.
- Brant Street between Caroline Street and Lakeshore Road will be closed to traffic between 6 and 11 p.m.
Exit Points
- Baldwin Street/Victoria Avenue at Brant Street
- Maple Avenue at Ontario Street.
Traffic Lane Closures
- Lakeshore Road, John Street to Brant Street and John Street to Pine Street, Pine Street from Brant to John Street, between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
- Southbound Brant Street between Baldwin and Caroline Street

Road Closure: Lockhart Road at Maple Avenue, May 15, 2019

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, Lockhart Road at Maple Avenue will be closed from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for construction activity.

Road Closure: Brock Avenue, between Elgin Street and Ontario Street - May 13 to 15, 2019

Brock Avenue, between Elgin Street and Ontario Street, will be closed for three days starting Monday, May 13 for construction activity.
Access to the municipal parking lot at Brock Avenue and Ontario Street will maintained from Elgin Street.
Cedar Springs Road between Colling Road and Britannia Road - All Lanes Re-opened

Location: Cedar Springs Road between Colling Road and Britannia Road
Date: May 13 to 17, 2019
Cedar Springs Road from Colling Road to Britannia Road will be closed from Monday, May 13 until Friday, May 17 for a road culvert replacement near 5512 Cedar Springs Rd. Local access will be maintained, however through traffic will be detoured along Colling Road to Blind Line to Britannia Road.
