The City of Burlington’s annual street tree pruning program is underway.
Our pruning program is very important work that protects our urban tree canopy and has many other benefits, besides protecting our urban tree canopy:
A properly pruned tree has a better chance of making it through a storm and other significant weather events. Fewer broken tree limbs and trees means more trees stay in the ground and off the ground!
The City has and works with certified arborists to prune municipal trees. They are highly trained and qualified experts and they follow the City’s approved Tree Pruning Standards and International Society of Arboriculture best...

The annual Sound of Music Festival is taking place June 15 to 18, 2023. To meet the needs of the festival and to ensure public safety, road closures are noted below. Parade route streets will re-open as soon as possible after the parade on June 17. Vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be tagged or towed for emergency access.

The 32nd annual Moon in June Road Race is happening on Saturday, June 10. These races require road and lane closures in Burlington. Streets will reopen as soon as possible following the end of the race.

Tyandaga Park Drive, near the west entrance of Tyandaga Golf Course, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 5 for installation of a water valve chamber.

Due to storm sewer installation and repair work, LaSalle Park Road will be closed from Oaklands Park Court to the LaSalle Park Community Marina, daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June 5 to June 9 and June 12 to June 16. Pedestrians can access the marina through LaSalle Park.
