The Around the Bay Road Race on Sunday, March 26, 2023, will result in road and lane closures in Burlington from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Streets will reopen as the last participant passes. Vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be tagged or towed to allow emergency access. Traffic on roads next to the race route will experience significant delays. Residents are urged to use alternate routes to minimize congestion surrounding the route area.

King Road will be closed for through traffic between North Service Road and Mountain Brow Road from March 16 to April 12, 2023 for the annual passage of endangered Jefferson salamanders.
Public access will be restricted at the escarpment limits while local access will be maintained up to the closure points.
Since 2012, the City of Burlington has closed the same section of road for the salamanders to cross. They are a nationally and provincially protected endangered species. Learn more.

The Chilly Half Marathon is being held Sunday, March 5, 2023. As a result, there will be a number of road closures and detours. Race Details: The race starts at 10:05 a.m. in front of City Hall on Brant Street and travels north to Baldwin Street, west on Baldwin Street, south on Hurd Avenue, east on Blenheim Street, south on Locust Street, east on Elgin Street, south on Brant Street, west on Lakeshore Road, turnaround at Maple Avenue, east on Lakeshore Road to Burloak Drive, north on Burloak Drive, turnaround at Spruce Avenue, west on Lakeshore Road, North on Brant Street to Finish. On Sunday, Jan. 22 a number of road closures and lane restrictions will be in effect for the Robbie Burns race. Race Start Time 8:30 a.m. from Elgin Street, travelling in a clockwise direction. Road Closures 6 to 10 a.m. – Elgin Street from Burlington Avenue to Locust Street. 8 to 9 a.m. – Baldwin Street from Hurd Avenue to Brant Street. 8:30 to 9 a.m. - Brant Street from Baldwin to Fairview. Lane Closures 7:30 to 10 a.m. – Locust Street northbound. All remaining streets on race route will have one lane coned-off for runners. Expect delays.
