Road Closure - Remembrance Day Parade and Service

The Remembrance Day Parade and Service is on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vehicles parked illegally in the road closure area will be tagged or towed.

Road Closures

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brant Street between Baldwin Street and Pine Street. Detour on Victoria Avenue.
Ontario Street between Locust Street and Brant Street.
Locust Street between Elgin Street and Ontario Street.

10 to 11 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m.

Baldwin Street between Hurd Avenue and Brant Street.

Resident Access

Residents and businesses along the route can exit using John Street, Locust Street or Blathwayte Lane.
Emergency Services access will be maintained at all times along the route.

Parking Information

Parking will not be available on Brant Street between Baldwin Street and Pine Street between 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please do not park in restricted areas.
Waterfront Parking Garage (414 Locust St.) will remain open with 339 parking spots available.

Supervision

Road closures will be managed by the Halton Region Police Service.

Wolf Island Bridge lane closures - Nov. 5, 2019 to Jan. 5, 2020

Wolf Island Bridge on Plains Road West, west of Botanical Drive will have temporary lane closures for traffic in either direction.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 to Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020

One lane to remain open in both directions at all times.

Intersection of Lakeshore Road and Brant Street - Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 4 - 8, 2019

Brant Street at Lakeshore Road – Oct. 28 - Nov. 1

Brant Street will be fully closed at Lakeshore Road. There will be a road closure sign at Elgin Street and Pine Street with local access to businesses and residential buildings.

Lakeshore Road at Brant Street – Nov. 4 - 8

Lakeshore Road at Brant Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

This work is highly weather dependent, so dates will be changed if needed.

Full emergency access will be provided.

Overnight Closure of York Boulevard Bridge, between Plains Road West and Old Guelph Road, beginning Oct. 28

Beginning Monday, Oct. 28, the City of Hamilton will close the northbound and southbound lanes of the York Boulevard bridge between Plains Road West and Old Guelph Road between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. for three nights to safely replace bridge bearings.

The work is expected to wrap up on or before Oct. 30, 2019.

Motorists should use alternative routes during this time.

The City of Hamilton thanks motorists for their patience as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.
