Burlington Santa Claus Parade Road Closures

The 54th Annual Burlington Santa Claus Parade is happening on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, and will run from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The following road closures will be in effect on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Road Closures

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Prospect Street from Cumberland Avenue to Guelph Line with local access permitted.

1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

  • Guelph Line from Prospect Street to New Street
  • New Street from Guelph Line to Martha Street
  • James Street from Martha Street to Brant Street
  • Brant Street from Baldwin Street/Victoria Avenue to Elgin Street

Supervision

The Halton Regional Police Service will supervise all closures and direct traffic at major intersections. Emergency services access will be maintained at all times along the event route.

Downtown Municipal Parking

Enjoy free parking during December in Burlington’s downtown municipal lots:

  • Waterfront Parking Garage, 414 Locust St.
  • Various municipal surface parking lots.

Please remember to obey all parking bylaw regulations to avoid being ticketed and/or towed.

Rexway Drive closures up to Nov. 8, 2019

Rexway Drive will be affected by road and watermain road during October and into November.

  1. The insection of Rexway Drive and Woodview Road will be closed:Thursday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.The intersection will be closed in all directions to install a new watermian valve chamber.

  2. Woodview Drive at Rexway DriveOct. 18 to 22, 2019 Ongoing lane restrictions 

  3. Rexway Drive will be closed from Woodview Drive to Letitia CourtThursday, Oct. 17 to Friday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.Local traffic only

Pine and Pearl Streets closed - Oct. 15 and 16, 2019

Pearl Street from Lakeshore Roadd to James Street and Pine Street from Elizabeth Street to Marth Street will be closed for milling and paving on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Road Closure: Delaware Avenue - Oct. 10, 2019

On Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, Delaware Avenue will be closed between New Street and Bruce Street for tree removal.

 

Detour map - Prospect Street road closure

Road Closure Update: Prospect Street, between Dynes Road and Cumberland Avenue - extended to Oct. 9, 2019

Updated on Oct. 4, 2019: Due to inclement weather, the Prospect Street road closure has been extended to Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019.

Halton Region is continuing work on the Second Feedermain to Washburn Reservoir Project.

Between Monday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, Prospect Street will be closed between Dynes Road and Cumberland Avenue to allow for the installation of a large water valve chamber. The new valve chamber will connect the newly built 900 mm feedermain (watermain) along Prospect Street to the existing 1050 mm feedermain at the Hydro One Corridor.

This work is required to expand the water system to facilitate growth within the Region.
