Chilly Half Marathon Road Closures - March 3, 2024

Sunday, March 3, 2024, the 27th edition of Chilly Half Marathon will be held in support of cancer care at Joseph Brant Hospital.

Road Closures
  • 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brant Street from Maria Street to Elgin Street.
  • Ontario St. from Brant Street to Locust Street, and James Street from John Street to Brant Street.
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lakeshore Road from Brant Street to Maple Avenue.
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Brant Street, Lakeshore Road. to Elgin Street (access to Bunton’s Wharf will be maintained via Locust Street, with minor delays).
  • 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lakeshore Road from Brant Street to Burloak Drive. Burloak Drive from Lakeshore Road to Spruce Avenue for turnaround (Access to Old Lakeshore Road from the west maintained with delays).
  • There will be a soft road closure on Lakeshore Road at Great Lakes Boulevard, traffic travelling west on Lakeshore Road towards Burloak Drive will be diverted north onto Great Lakes Boulevard.

Road Closure for eastbound James Street at Martha

Update, Feb. 12: Bell Canada has completed the infrastructure repairs, however, the road repairs still need to be completed. As a result, the eastbound lanes of James Street at Martha Street will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bell Canada is doing urgent repairs to communication infrastructure and will be closing eastbound lanes of James Street at Martha Street.

The closure will be Friday, Feb. 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but may be extended if needed.

No. 1 Sideroad Closure

No. 1 Side Rd. between Guelph Line and Walkers Line will be closed Dec. 4-22, 2023 and Jan. 2-26, 2024 for two culvert replacements near 3175 No. 1 Side Rd. A detour will be in place.

Road Closures for Santa Claus Parade, Dec. 3

Road closures will be in effect on Sunday, Dec. 3 for the Santa Claus Parade.

Road Closures 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Prospect Street from Cumberland Avenue to Guelph Line with local access permitted.
  • No access from 2 to 3 p.m.

1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Guelph Line from Fairview Street to New Street
  • New Street from Guelph Line to Martha Street
  • James Street from Martha Street to Brant Street
  • Brant Street from Elgin Street to Baldwin Street/Victoria Avenue 
Supervision

The Halton Regional Police Service will supervise all closures and direct traffic at major intersections. Emergency services access will be maintained at all times along the event route.

Downtown Municipal Parking

Please remember to obey all parking bylaw regulations to avoid being ticketed and/or towed.

Temporary “Emergency - No Stopping“ signs will be posted on various streets. Parking and police officers may ticket or tow illegally parked vehicles to ensure that streets are free and clear for emergency vehicle access.

Lane Restrictions on Harvester Road

A section of road at 5400 Harvester Rd. (near Burloak Drive) will be repaved from Nov. 22 to Nov. 25, 2023. As a result, there will be lane restrictions and traffic delays during that time.
