This summer, the City of Burlington will be making improvements to the roadway, curbs, sidewalks and storm sewers on Ghent Avenue and Hager Avenue in Ward 2. Construction is expected to begin the week of May 27, 2019 and continue into July 2019.
As a result of construction activity, all streets in this area will experience temporary lane restrictions throughout the duration of the project.

This summer, the City of Burlington and Halton Region will be working to replace water and watermain infrastructure in the area near Rexway Drive, as part of the Rexway Drive Area Reconstruction Project.
As part of this project, Rexway Drive, between Walkers Line and Thornwood Avenue, will be closed, with local traffic only, beginning Tuesday, May 21, 2019. The closure is expected to be in place until mid-June 2019.
During this work, Rexway Drive at Tuck Creek bridge will be unpassable in both directions.
Elwood Road and Braemore Road will also be closed at Rexway Drive, with local access only.

The 40th annual Sound of Music Festival is taking place over two weekends: June 8 and June 14 to 16, 2019. To meet the needs of the festival, road closures are noted below. Streets will re-open as soon as possible after the parade on June 16. Vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be tagged or towed for emergency access.

The 28th annual Moon in June Road Race has a one-km kids’ race at 6:30 p.m. and 5k and 10k races beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. These races require road and lane closures in Burlington. Streets will reopen as soon as possible following the end of the race. Vehicles parked illegally in the area will be tagged or towed to allow emergency access.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, Lockhart Road at Maple Avenue will be closed from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for construction activity.
