Road Closures and Restrictions

Road Closures: Nightly on Prospect Street - April 29 to May 3, 2019

Beginning Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 3, 2019, Prospect Street, between Dynes Road and the Hydro One Corridor will be closed nightly, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for work by Halton Region on the Second Feedermain to Washburn Reservoir construction project.

During the nightly closure, Halton Region will be relocating Bell Canada infrastructure to allow for the installation of a future water valve chamber. The chamber will be used to connect the newly built 900mm watermain on Prospect Street with the existing 1050mm watermain at the Hydro One Corridor.

Detours:

• Cars travelling east on Prospect Street will be detoured south along Dynes Road to Woodward Avenue and then north on Cumberland Avenue.
• Cars travelling west on Prospect Street will be detoured south along Cumberland Avenue to Woodward Avenue and then north to Dynes Road to Prospect Street.

Driveway access will be maintained at all times.

Road Closure: Timber Lane, between Pinedale Avenue and Appleby Mall entrance - moved to Friday, April 12, 2019

The Timber Lane road closure planned for April 11, has been moved to Friday, April 12, 2019. The closure will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Thursday, April 11, Timber Lane will be closed for crane activity between Pinedale Avenue and the driveway that provides access to Appleby Mall. The closure will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Local access will be maintained and through traffic will be detoured along New Street and Pinedale Avenue.

 

Good Friday Road Race Road Closure - April 19

The 46th annual Good Friday Road Race on Friday, April 19, 2019, will result in road and lane closures.

Streets will reopen as soon as possible following the completion of the final race. Vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be tagged or towed to allow emergency access.

Road closures

• 8 to 11:30 a.m. - Fairwood Place, in the area directly in front of Aldershot School will be closed to traffic with local access to residences maintained, subject to race delays.
• 9 to 11:30 a.m. - North Shore Boulevard West from Fairwood Place to Unsworth will be closed to through traffic.
• Local access to residents within the closed area will be maintained, subject to race delays. Through traffic on North Shore Boulevard West will be detoured at LaSalle Park Road and at Plains Road West.

Around the Bay Road Race Road Closures

The Around the Bay Road Race on Sunday, March 31, 2019, will result in road and lane closures in Burlington from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Streets will re-open as the last participant passes. Vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be tagged or towed to allow emergency access.

Road Closures - 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• QEW Toronto-bound exit ramp to North Shore Boulevard East. Detour via Fairview Street.
• North Shore Boulevard East Niagara-bound entry ramp to the QEW. Detour via Fairview Street.
• Plains Road West at York Boulevard. Detour via Hwy. 6 and 403.

Traffic Lane Closures - 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Southbound lane of King Road from Plains Road East to North Shore Boulevard East - local access only. Northbound traffic not affected.
• Eastbound lane of North Shore Boulevard East and North Shore Boulevard West from Plains Road West to the QEW exit ramp west of Joseph Brant Hospital. Westbound lane open to westbound traffic only.
