City crews are currently out salting primary and secondary roads. Sidewalk plowing is also continuing.
Residents are reminded that all on-street parking is cancelled as of 6 p.m. tonight. Residents can park cars in neighbourhood park parking lots; NOT in recreation facility parking lots such as pools, arenas and community centres. Facility lots need to be cleared so we can reopen them as soon as possible.
Burlington Transit is operating with some weather delays and disruptions. Riders should visit myride.burlington.ca for real-time updates.
A snow storm this big requires a coordinated, strategic approach. Streets and sidewalks are prioritized based on a number of criteria, including how often they’re used by commuters, access to important institutions like hospitals and schools, and whether they’re on major bus and transportation routes.

As part of the Significant Weather Event, a Snow Event has been declared and on-street parking is cancelled as of 6 p.m. today, Feb. 15.
On-street parking is cancelled until after the Snow Event has ended so plows can safely move through narrow streets in communities like Alton Village and the Orchard. Cars left on the street will be ticketed or towed.
Residents should note that in snowfalls greater than 30cm, or in blizzard conditions, more time may be needed to complete clearing. The same exception may apply when there are rapidly changing weather conditions, like flash freezes after rain, wet snow packed to ice and freezing rain. Crews will continue working until all streets and sidewalks are plowed and/or salted.
A lot of snow is expected so please use caution and patience when travelling. Be sure to check on your neighbours, too.

Local residential road plowing was completed overnight and all roads were sanded. The City's Snow Event declaration has ended as of 6 a.m. today (Feb. 14), and on-street parking can resume.
Bus stop clearing is complete.
Sidewalk plowing is ongoing; however, it is progressing slowly as units clear large windrows displaced by wider roads along the primaries as well as through numerous commercial driveways. Clearing of secondary and local sidewalks will progress much quicker and the City appreciates the communities patience as it continues clearing efforts.
Snow removal operations have been initiated and will continue next week.

Plowing of secondary roads is nearing completion and crews have started to move into local residential roads. Local road plowing will likely continue throughout the day and into the overnight. Consequently, all on-street parking restrictions will remain in place overnight.
Sidewalk plowing and bus stop clearing is ongoing but progress is slow due to the amount of snow. All bus stops are expected to be cleared by late evening but sidewalk clearing will continue into Friday.
Snow removal plans are in progress for select areas and crews continue to address any issues as they arise on a safety/road class priority basis.
Progress on both local road plowing and sidewalk plowing can be tracked through the public facing portal at: burlington.focus511.com

Plowing of primary roads is ongoing and clearing of secondaries will follow this morning.
Local road plowing will begin later this morning.
As the snow is heavy due to the rain and warming temperatures, plowing of roads and sidewalks will take longer than usual. The City is aware of high volumes of snow on sidewalks, windrows and roads and appreciates the communities patience as road clearing efforts continue. Crews will continue working until all streets and sidewalks are plowed and/or salted.
