New phone menu options when you call us!

When you dial 905-639-0550, you have new menu options to choose from to connect you to the information you need:

  • Press 1 to use a dial by name directory to reach City staff
  • Press 2 to connect to our real-time bus arrival information using your bus stop ID number
  • Press 3 to book your trip on our specialized buses
  • Press 4 to speak to a customer service representative at the Downtown Transit Terminal, 430 John St.
  • Press 5 to hear the Downtown Transit Terminal hours of operation and location

Introducing PRESTO in Google Wallet

Making it easier to travel on transit with more ways to pay your fare.

Metrolinx is bringing you even more options to pay your fare on Burlington Transit. You can now pay your fare by tapping a digital version of the PRESTO card in Google Wallet, on an Android smartphone or Wear OS smartwatch.

With this new way to pay, you’ll be able to load funds on your card instantly, from anywhere! You can convert your existing PRESTO card to a digital card in your Google Wallet. You’ll still need to visit us at the Downtown Transit Terminal, 430 John St., to load your U-Pass add-on or SPLIT pass.

Once you convert to PRESTO in Google Wallet, your physical PRESTO card will be cancelled and most details will be carried over, including fare type, balance, products, card settings, autoload/autorenew contracts, loyalty and more to PRESTO in Google Wallet.

Small schedule changes - Nov. 19

We are making a few changes to our bus schedules, starting Nov. 19.

Which schedules are being updated?
  • Route 1 Plains-Fairview – minor schedule change in the mornings and afternoons
  • Route 2 Brant – minor weekday schedule changes in the early afternoon
  • Route 3 Guelph – earlier service start. Minor weekday schedule changes in the early afternoon.
  • Route 11 Sutton-Alton & 25 Walkers – minor schedule change to help with GO Transit connections
Where can I get my schedule?

Our schedules are posted online. It’s always good to remember that, just like any other vehicle, traffic and weather can cause delays. Use, our real-time arrival or trip planning tool, to help you plan your ride or see if there are delays. You can even watch a real-time map to see how far away your bus is.

Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.: Honouring our Veterans on Remembrance Day

Burlington Transit will be remembering those who fought for our freedom by honouring all veterans on Remembrance Day. We will be pausing service for two minutes of silence on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 at 11 a.m.

Just before 11 a.m., our buses and specialized vehicles will stop in a safe spot and stay there until the moment of silence has finished. The Downtown Transit Terminal will also pause service at 11 a.m.

All service will resume after the two-minute pause.

Service hours
Burlington Transit will run on a regular schedule on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Downtown Transit Terminal at 430 John St. will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our specialized dispatch office will be closed.

Burlington Transit buses will be detoured throughout downtown Burlington and Hamilton for their Remembrance Day processions and ceremonies.
