Introducing PRESTO in Google Wallet

Posted on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 11:14 AM

Making it easier to travel on transit with more ways to pay your fare.

Metrolinx is bringing you even more options to pay your fare on Burlington Transit. You can now pay your fare by tapping a digital version of the PRESTO card in Google Wallet, on an Android smartphone or Wear OS smartwatch.

With this new way to pay, you’ll be able to load funds on your card instantly, from anywhere! You can convert your existing PRESTO card to a digital card in your Google Wallet. You’ll still need to visit us at the Downtown Transit Terminal, 430 John St., to load your U-Pass add-on or SPLIT pass.

Once you convert to PRESTO in Google Wallet, your physical PRESTO card will be cancelled and most details will be carried over, including fare type, balance, products, card settings, autoload/autorenew contracts, loyalty and more to PRESTO in Google Wallet.

Don’t have a PRESTO card? Now’s the time to get one – Your PRESTO card in Google Wallet is free!
