It’s hard to believe we are a few days short of spring as the snow is up to our heads in many spots in Ward 3. But change is never far off, including down at City hall. Here are a couple updates regarding my roles in this new term of council:

• I was tapped by the mayor and my council colleagues to fulfill the Deputy Mayor role with a focus on the environment, including transportation, public transit and climate change. These matters are important as we face down a potential recession in our community.
• I was also elected as Vice-President at Large of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. This appointment will open doors for me to bring our issues to Ottawa.
