Burlington, Ont. – Jan. 7, 2021—On Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m., the City of Burlington will host a virtual budget town hall to seek the community’s input on their priorities for the city’s 2021 budget.
Through the budget process, choices are made to ensure the appropriate balance between affordability, service levels and financial sustainability is maintained. In a challenging budget year where the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is placing considerable pressure on the city’s financial position, community feedback about which services are a priority for residents is more important than ever.
How to participate in the 2021 Budget Town Hall
Residents can share their ideas and thoughts at the virtual budget town hall on Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Hosted by Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, the live event will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the proposed 2021 budget.
To join the meeting, visit getinvolvedburlington.ca and click on the meeting link just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 20.
Other public engagement opportunities – survey and budget simulator
Residents can also provide input and ask questions about the 2021 budget by visiting getinvolvedburlington.ca. The 2021 budget webpage features a variety of information and tools, including an online survey, open until Jan. 13, and a new interactive budgeting simulator tool that enables users to build a city budget that reflects their resource and service priorities.
