The City of Burlington will be replacing 13 playgrounds over the next two years and is encouraging families who use these playgrounds to complete a survey to pick the features they like the most.
The online survey is available at getinvolvedburlington.ca/lovemyplayground until March 26, 2021.
Playgrounds are an important part of the park experience and provide free physical and creative activities for children and their families. Playgrounds are designed to challenge and stimulate all children, of all abilities. Accessible outdoor play spaces allow for all children to play together, increasing understanding and inclusion.
Playgrounds to be replaced in 2022-2023 are:
- Bridgeview Park
- Emerson Park
- Fairchild Park
- Florence Meares Public School
- Lakeshore Public School
- Lampman Park
- Longmoor Park
- Pauline Johnson Public School
- Peart Park
- Pineland Public School
- Rolling Meadows Public School
- Taywood Park
- Tuck Park

Burlington is ranked as Canada’s best community and best place to raise a family. It is a City where people, nature and businesses thrive. As residents continue to rediscover many of their favourite spaces and activities in the city, City services may look different as we work to stop the spread of COVID-19. The City’s commitment to providing the community with essential services remains a priority. Quotes
Chris Glenn, Director of Recreation, Community and Culture
“The value of outdoor play and our parks and open spaces has been demonstrated this year more than ever. With everyone’s help, we can design playground structures that appeal to all ages of children and parents can have confidence in their safety. Sit down with your kids, show them the options and ask them which they think is more fun.”
