Burlington, Ont. – Aug. 5, 2014— The City of Burlington continues to respond to yesterday’s flood conditions, assessing damages and hazards, continuing road closures and performing repairs where possible.
“Meteorologists say Burlington received two months of rain in one day yesterday, which is an astonishing amount,” said Mayor Rick Goldring. “I am proud of the work of our city staff and emergency responders. Parks and recreation staff, roads and parks maintenance staff, police, fire, ambulance and the utilities worked together on a holiday Monday to help bring things back to normal for many residents. The city continues those cleanup efforts today.”
Road closures
Most city roads have been reopened following yesterday’s flooding in parts of Burlington. Guelph Line is closed from north of Dundas to No. 1 Sideroad.
