A proclamation is an official announcement issued by the Mayor designating a period of time such as a special day, week or month, in recognition of a significant event, person or organization in the City of Burlington.
The goal of a proclamation is to recognize commemorative dates, celebrate achievements and to raise public awareness of important issues in Burlington.
Proclamations will be included in the Council agenda if they meet all of the following criteria:
Requests for proclamations must be resubmitted each year. We receive many requests for both new and annually recurring proclamations. Please allow a minimum of 30 days for a proclamation to be prepared and included in the Council agenda.
Use the below form to submit a request for a proclamation. Approved proclamations will be included in the Council Agenda for the month proclaimed if they meet all of the above criteria.

Individuals and organizations seeking proclamations to recognize regional, provincial, or national causes or events will be referred to other appropriate orders of government for recognition.
