Supporting local food is good for the environment and local economy. Try growing vegetables in your backyard, participating in a community garden, supporting the local agri-tourism industry, or visiting a local farmers' market.
Community gardens provide a space for people to learn from and support each other as they grow their own vegetables. The city now operates three community gardens where individual plots are available. Additional community gardens are run by local places of worship.
