The City of Burlington began the cultural planning process in an effort to align the municipality's goals, planning and policies with the cultural desires and identity of the community and its cultural stakeholders. A Cultural Report was drafted in consultation with the community and presented to City Council in March 2013. The Cultural Report was followed by the Cultural Action Plan, a set of practical recommendations developed and discussed at two community consultations and through online feedback. The Cultural Action Plan was finalized and approved by Council in November 2013. The plan and its strategic recommendations aim to enhance cultural development in Burlington.
Burlington's Cultural Map allows organizations, businesses and individuals to register, map and search points of cultural interest throughout the city. The online tool provides information about cultural assets and resources available in Burlington.
