Back to SearchBurlington City Council will be considering an amendment to the Building Permit By-law to index building permit fees at a public City Council (Committee of the Whole) meeting:

The proposal is made in accordance with Section 6.11 of the City of Burlington building permit by-law and Section 7 of the Building Code Act. Once enacted by City Council, the amending by-law would adjust the fees contained in Schedule “A” of City By-Law 66-2019 to reflect the overall per cent increase approved by Council.
The report going to the Committee of the Whole will propose two (2) options for indexation. The approved indexation would take effect on April 15, 2025.

Any person may request a copy of the report to be presented and/or may request an estimate of the cost of administering or enforcing the Building Code Act. The report provides an overview of the change in cost of existing fees and the rationale for the change in the fees.
