July to end of September 2023
The City of Burlington is renewing the playground at Pauline Johnson School (4350 Longmoor Dr., Burlington) in Summer 2023.
The proposed improvements include:
Construction of the playground will take place from July to September.
The schoolground will remain open during construction, however, there will be some minor inconveniences from the construction activity. The playground area will remain closed and fenced off. Once the construction is completed, the playground will undergo safety inspections to ensure the installation work is compliant with playground safety standards. The fence will be removed once the playground is deemed to have passed the safety inspections. Thank you in advance for your cooperation during construction.
During the construction of the Pauline Johnson School playground, you may wish to visit the following playgrounds in your area:
In 2021, the City conducted a ‘Love My Playground’ survey to get public feedback about the types of equipment residents would like to see at local playgrounds when the equipment is replaced in 2022 and 2023. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey, including the many children and caregivers who provided great feedback.
Your input inspired the playground designers when deciding which pieces of play equipment to include in your new local playground. Most of the play equipment features identified above from the survey results will be included as part of the playground.
