The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has revised their schedule for the Skyway Niagara bound closures.

All full closures start  at 10 p.m. and end at 10 a.m. Friday or Saturday:  

Saturday, Sept. 23 - CANCELLED 
Friday, Sept. 29 with Sept. 30 as backup

During the QEW Niagara bound closures, MTO will close these on ramps:

  • All lanes QEW Fort Erie bound, beyond Northshore Boulevard/ Hwy 2 to the south of the Burlington Skyway will be closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie Bound from Northshore Boulevard/Hwy 2 southbound will be fully closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie Bound from Plains Road south bound will be fully closed
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie Bound from Fairview Street south bound will be fully closed
  • QEW Niagara-bound Collector Lane split at Eastport Drive (N-S Ramp, North of the Canal), will be closed

On ramps closed

  • All lanes QEW Fort Erie bound, beyond Northshore Boulevard/ Hwy 2 to the south of the Burlington Skyway will be closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie Bound from Northshore Boulevard/Hwy 2 southbound will be fully closed.
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie Bound from Plains Road south bound will be fully closed
  • The on-ramp to QEW Fort Erie Bound from Fairview Street south bound will be fully closed
  • QEW Niagara-bound Collector Lane split at Eastport Drive (N-S Ramp, North of the Canal), will be closed

Signs have been placed at these ramps with the dates and times when they will be closed.

UPDATE - July 17, 2023

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has revised their schedule to

Saturday, July 22 at 10 p.m. until
Sunday, July 23 at 11:30 a.m.

This is instead of the original scheduled time of Friday, July 21.

Friday, Aug. 11, 2023

All Niagara-bound lane closures will begin Friday night at 10 p.m. The lanes will reopen on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

If the the closures need to be pushed to Saturday night,  all Niagara-bound lanes will be closed on  Friday night at 10 p.m. The lanes will reopen on Sun day morning at 10 a.m.

Fridays, July 7 to 28, 2023
Lane closures begin at 6:30 p.m. with full closure of Niagara/Westbound lanes at 8 p.m.

All westbound lanes of traffic are closed for this work, Friday nights in July:

July 7
July 14
July 21
July 28

Plus Aug. 11

Niagara bound lanes will reopen, Saturdays by 9:30 a.m.

In case of bad weather, the Friday night construction will be rescheduled for the next night, Saturday and the lanes will reopen Sunday morning by 9:30 a.m.
