Burlington City Council passed Bylaw 2020.502 to amend Bylaw 2020, as amended, on April 15, 2025, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1990, as amended. File number: 520-02/25 (DGM-21-25)
Bylaw 2020.502 rezones land at 105 Avondale Ct. to permit a single detached dwelling on the subject lands.
Public consultation on the proposed zoning bylaw amendment occurred through a statutory public meeting held on April 8, 2025, at a Committee of the Whole meeting. Notice of the statutory public meeting was mailed to tenants and owners within 120m of the subject land on March 5, 2025, and published in the Hamilton Spectator on March 8,
2025. The City received two comments on the proposed amendment and there was one delegation at the statutory public meeting held on April 8, 2025.
Only the applicant, specified person and public bodies as defined in the Planning Act, and registered owners of lands to which the bylaw will apply and who made submissions at this public meeting or who have made written submissions to the City before the bylaw is passed, will be able to appeal the decision of the City of Burlington to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the plan was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the
opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
Dated at the City of Burlington on April 24, 2025.
