The City of Burlington is proposing amendments the Burlington Official Plan, 2020 that will delegate authority to staff to pass minor bylaw amendments under Section 34 of the Planning Act that are of a minor nature, in accordance with Section 39.2 of the Planning Act and the City’s Delegated Authority Bylaw, as outlined below. The proposed amendment will also establish alternative measures to be used for public notice and obtaining public opinion on Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw amendments.
Proposed Amendments
The proposed Official Plan Amendment will apply City-wide and will outline the objectives and policies for delegated authority. Delegated authority will allow staff the authority make technical changes to the Official Plan and to pass minor bylaw amendments under Section 34 of the Planning Act that are of a minor nature, in accordance with Section 39.2 of the Planning Act and the City’s Delegated Authority Bylaw.
