We are joining our transit partners across the province to pause all service on Monday, Sept. 19 for 96 seconds at 1 p.m. in honour of Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, on the day of her funeral. We invite you to join us to pause for a moment of silence on the National Day of Mourning.
All Burlington Transit service will pause for this moment of silence. Just before 1 p.m., our buses will stop where it is safe to do so and stay there until the moment of silence has finished. Handi-Van vehicles will stop at a safe location on the road. The downtown transit terminal and specialized dispatch will also pause service at 1 p.m.
All service will resume right after the 96-second pause.
This pause is part of the Province of Ontario’s moment of silence following Her Late Majesty’s State Funeral on Monday. This is the last day of the official period of mourning in Canada for Queen Elizabeth II.
