Each October, the Burlington Fire Department participates in Fire Prevention Week—a province-wide campaign to increase public awareness about the importance of fire prevention.
This year, Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 7 to 13, 2018.
Here is a list of free, family-friendly activities happening in Burlington.

Burlington's Fire Station 1 Headquarters, 1255 Fairview St. and Station 5, 2241 Kilbride St. will be hosting open houses during Fire Prevention Week on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m.
These two fire stations will be open for public tours and family-friendly fire safety activities.
Please bring non-perishable food items to the event in support of Burlington Food Banks.
Station 1 - Headquarters, 1255 Fairview St.
* Headquarters will feature special activities and live fire and rescue demonstrations starting at 1:30 p.m.
Station 5 - 2241 Kilbride St.
*Station 5 will feature kids' activities and a historical display celebrating the station's 40-year anniversary.
Join us Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. for our talk at the Wellness and Wellbeing Information Series at the Burlington Seniors' Centre. Learn more about preventing fires at home and how our Alarm Assistance Program can help you stay safe at home.
Got a burning question? We've got answers...and coffee!
Join us Friday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. until noon at participating McDonald's locations, 1505 Guelph Line and 4490 Fairview St. for a FREE small coffee. Let's chat about your personal and home safety. Meet your local firefighters, see the fire truck and speak with our knowledgeable fire prevention staff about how we can keep you and your family safe.
Before you visit our fire station open house on Saturday, Oct. 13, head over to Burlington's Home Depot at 3050 Davidson Court for its Fire Safety Day FREE hands-on workshop designed for children ages 5 to 12. Burlington Firefighters will be there to greet families and answer fire safety questions.
