Unless otherwise signed, all streets in Burlington have a five-hour parking limit. Parking is not permitted overnight between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.
On Sept. 1, 2016, new parking rules came into effect across the city which regulate where cars can park on city boulevards (area at the end of your driveway) and lay-bys.
The new rules do not impact neighbourhoods and streets that currently have the Neighbourhood On-Street Parking Program (NOSPP) designation.

For some residents in Burlington, parking all the family vehicles in the space provided at their home can be a challenge. On July 11, 2016, report TS-04-16 was presented to Burlington City Council, recommending the introduction of a residential pay parking permit program for residents who have more vehicles than they can park on their own property (garage and driveway). At the July 18 meeting of Burlington City Council, the following was approved:

Updates to Downtown On-street Parking Updates to Downtown Parking Starting in December 2020, a new parking program has begun in the Downtown area. Pay for Parking and get 90 Bonus minutes on us! Add the time onto the time purchased. Customers can pay at Pay Stations or use the Honk Mobile app, a touch free way to pay. Parking is free after 6:00 p.m. and on evenings and weekends. Permit Holders are still required to have a valid permit at this time, please make sure that you have renewed you permit for 2021. Please continue to follow the Parking Rules, Laws and Signage during your visit to Downtown Burlington. |

HonkMobile |
Beginning Monday, April 30, 2018, residents and visitors can now use the HonkMobile app to search, pay for, and top-up parking payments directly from their smartphone, tablet or computer. The HonkMobile app can be downloaded from the App Store or the Google Play store using any internet connected device. Users are required to sign up for an account and pay a transaction fee of $0.35 for each payment. HonkMobile replaces the city’s former online payment tool Telepark and can be used on-street and in city parking lots.

New Parking Technology - Find a parking space |
In spring 2018, the City of Burlington introduced some new parking initiatives designed to make it easier for users to find a parking space in downtown Burlington. Occupancy sensor technology How it works? Using the data from the occupancy sensors, real-time parking supply information is displayed on new digital counter signs installed at all city-owned parking lots. The digital counter signs show drivers the number of available parking spaces in each lot. In addition, new digital wayfinding signs have been installed on primary downtown streets to help direct drivers to parking lots with available spaces. The wayfinding signs display real-time information about the number of available parking spaces in nearby lots and use directional arrows to guide drivers to those parking lots.
