The City of Burlington has completed the Roseland Creek Culvert Upgrades at New Street and Lakeshore Road Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study. The purpose of the study was to determine the best soution to reduce flooding in the Roseland Creek watershed from Glencrest Road to Lake Ontario, and focused on buildings near the New Street Culvert and Lakeshore Road Culvert to reduce the number of buildings within the floodplain. Options included replacement of the culverts and adjustments of the Roseland Creek channel.
The Roseland Creek Culvert Upgrades at New Street and Lakeshore Road Class Environmental Assessment Study was subject to follow the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act and followed the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment 'Schedule B' process. Through this process, the existing conditions and problems were fully documented, and then solutions were evaluated and presented for comment.
A key component of the study was consultation with you; the public, landowners and regulatory agencies. The Public Information Centres (PIC) was held on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Thank you to everyone who attended. See below for PIC Notice, Presentation Boards and Comment Sheet.
