NEW – email zoning certificate applications
The City of Burlington’s Community Planning Department is now accepting email submissions for:

While City Hall is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, complete applications should be submitted to zoning@burlington.ca. All other inquiries should be submitted to planning@burlington.ca.
The zoning mailbox is only to submit new applications. New applications require:

E-Transfers are the preferred method and must be sent from a bank that recognizes auto-deposit. Due to remote working situations, alternate forms of payment will take longer to process and can cause delays in the review process.

Council passed a private tree by-law within the Urban Boundary of the City of Burlington, effective January 27, 2020. Please contact the Forestry Section to confirm if a tree permit is required prior to issuance of a zoning certificate for all residential applications. This can also be completed online at burlington.ca/privatetree.
