The planning services Property Information Request service is currently unavailable.
On Nov. 30, 2020, the Region of Halton issued a Notice of Decision approving the new Burlington Official Plan. A number of appeals to various parts of the new Official Plan were received during the appeal period. The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) will issue Orders throughout the appeal process to establish and confirm which portions of the new Official Plan remain subject to appeal, and which portions are in effect. As a result, the planning services Property Information Request service is currently suspended. We apologize for this inconvenience and will resume this service at a later date. If you are a first-time user, you must register an account. There are two options to register for the online service. Option 1: Send an email to online@burlington.ca to set up your online account. Please include the following information in your email:
Option 2: Click on the "Get Started" button. You will be directed to the online services page. Click on the "Register" button under Register Now. You will be asked if you have a personal identification number (PIN). If you answer NO, you can request your PIN online. For both Option 1 and Option 2: Within two business days of receiving your information, you will be sent a confirmation email which will include your personal identification number (PIN) and further details on this new service. Your PIN and email address which is registered to your account is required in order to complete your online account registration. |

After you have registered, you will need your email address that is registered to your account along with your personal password that you created in order to login to your account. Once you have successfully logged in, you can navigate through the online service using the left side menu. Click on "My Property Information Requests". On the My PIR page, you can apply for a new property information request, view an existing request and details for the request, pay outstanding fees, and upload additional documents if necessary. |

A property information request is a "one stop" application form that captures many services across the various departments within the City of Burlington in order to provide a simplified application form and process. The property information request form includes 25 different services from six different departments that can be requested on one application form. |

An administration fee of $11.00 is applicable to each request. (HST is already included and ONLY applicable to those items marked by *.)

An attachment is a document that is required for your application if you have selected: zoning verification letter, survey compliance and agreement compliance/subdivision assumption. For online applications, the attachment document(s) must be in PDF format. You will be asked to upload your document within the online application. For in-person/mailed applications, the attachment document(s) can be scanned and emailed to city@burlington.ca or mailed in with the application form. Zoning Services: Zoning Verification letter - optional detailed letter attachment Enter the existing/proposed use of property within the application, or submit/upload a detailed letter with the application. If a detailed letter is not submitted, the letter will indicate a general overview of the zoning and If a detailed letter is submitted with specific questions, the letter will indicate a direct response to the questions.
Please note: upon receipt of a zoning verification letter request, you may be required to submit further information such as the examples below:
Survey Compliance - mandatory survey attachment required. A legible, Ontario Land Survey (OLS) must be submitted with your application in order to verify building/structure location on property. Legal Department: Agreement Compliance/Subdivision Assumption - mandatory agreement/instrument submission/upload required.
