In 2008, the city hired Cole Engineering for a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study to explore options to fix the erosion along Roseland Creek from Guelph Line to Lake Ontario. A Public Information Centre was held on Dec. 3, 2008 to update area residents and receive their feedback. This Study was completed in June 2010. Due to budget, the project is being completed in four phases:
Phase 1, 2 and 3 have been constructed and construction of Phase 4 is anticipated in fall 2019.
The objectives of this project are to implement erosion control that will prevent any more erosion along Roseland Creek; protect private and public infrastructure; provide water and land habitat enhancement where feasible; improve the water quality in the Creek and the Lake; and provide nicer views for surrounding landowners.
Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2019. The construction schedule is tentative and subject to change.
A key component of the project was the consultation with you; the public, landowners and regulatory agencies. The Public Information Centre (PIC) was held on Sept. 7, 2017 giving residents and property owners an overview of the goals and objectives of this project. Thank you to everyone who attended. Notices of PIC.
Dynex Construction Inc. has been awarded the Roseland Creek Erosion Control, Phase 4 construction project. For details, see Notice of Construction.
Construction Start: Week of Nov. 4, 2019
Construction Completion: Spring 2020
