The City of Burlington's Donations in Honour and Memory program (also known as the Park Amenities Recognition/Celebration Program) is a unique opportunity for families and friends to honour a special person or to recognize/celebrate an important occasion or accomplishment.
Donations are a lasting tribute to loved ones and a gift to the residents of the City of Burlington.
Donations can be made towards a park amenity such as a bench, or other amenities like a bike rack or sun shelter. The donation includes a personalized plaque which is placed on the amenity. For a bench, the plaque size will be 3 x 8 inches.
This program is available at most parks, other city-owned properties and along some city roads. City staff will work with donors to determine a specific location, the donation amount, and an installation schedule. The amenity donated will be maintained for the life of the amenity (e.g. typically 15 to 20 years for benches).
