Candidate Resources and Financials

Only registered candidates in the 2018 municipal election have access to the Candidate Portal.

Candidates must have set up their ‘box’ accounts on either a desktop or laptop in order to access the Portal.  Instructions on how to set up an account were provided at time of filing your nomination.

• The Municipal Elections Act, 1996 regulates the conduct of municipal and school board elections in Ontario, and sets out roles for municipal clerks and councils.
• The Education Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. E.2 is the main piece of legislation, or "statute", governing public education in Ontario.
• The Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, is a primary piece of legislation applicable to municipalities.

• Ontario Education Services Corporation (OESC), a non-profit corporation jointly owned by all School Boards in Ontario is developing a series of resources to support trustee candidates. An initiative undertaken with support from the Ministry of Education.
