Dedication of the Marianne Schuett Bench
On April 27, 1967, Marianne Schuett was abducted from Kilbride. Marianne’s abduction was devastating to her family and caused shock and dismay throughout the village of Kilbride. As news of the tragic event spread, hundreds of people joined in the search for Marianne, but their efforts were to no avail.
It remains the hope of all who know Marianne’s story that someone who knows something will come forward with information about her disappearance. It is not too late to bring closure to her family and her community.
At the request of the Schuett family, the Kilbride History Group has initiated the placement of a memorial bench in front of Kilbride Public School, close to the location where Marianne was abducted.
