About Councillor Kelvin Galbraith |
Kelvin was elected to Burlington Council in 2018 where he has enjoyed serving the residents of Ward 1 for his first term of office. Born and raised in the Aldershot area, Kelvin and much of his extended family, including his 6 children, live in Aldershot. He graduated from Fairfield, Maplehurst and Aldershot High School before taking his studies to Brock University and earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Kelvin considers himself an entrepreneur and opened his second business called The Fitness Firm in 1998 on Plains Road in Aldershot. Still open today, Kelvin was able to combine his business skills with his passion for fitness into a rewarding career in his home community. Kelvin’s interest in politics and serving his community was triggered by his time serving on the Aldershot BIA board and elected chair for 11 years. The BIA helped Kelvin with his vision of having a successful local business community and vibrant neighbourhood in Aldershot. The area was seeing much change and needed an organization to help steer it in the right direction. He remains on the BIA board now as a council appointment. When Kelvin is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and going to the family cottage in Parry Sound. He is a passionate hockey player on several teams and coaches a few of his children’s hockey teams every year. |
