The City of Burlington Animal Service shelters lost pets and helps reunite them with their families.
If your pet is missing, please contact us at 905-335-3030. We provide a temporary place for animals that have lost their way home, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and pocket pets. We also house stray animals for the Town of Milton. Our hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.
Please contact us or visit frequently to check for your pet. You can also check with other local shelters.
Other things you can do to find your pet:
It costs $59.45 to pick up your lost pet during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays) and $136.78 during non-office hours.
Please contact us at 905-335-3030 if you find a stray pet and we will arrange either for you to drop it off or for an officer to pick it up. You can also hold onto the animal and we can file a found report. This way, we can direct owners to pick up their pet from you when they call in looking for it.
According to our Animal Control Bylaw, animals that are not claimed by owners within a minimum of five days, if suitable, are put up for adoption.
Dog Licences are the fastest way to reunite you with your lost dog. Many dogs are quickly reunited with their owners in Burlington each year because they were found wearing a current license.
