Congratulatory letters and certificates
The Mayor's Office is happy to provide congratulatory letters and certificates to individuals and organizations for significant events and achievements.
Flag Raisings
Organizations can request a flag raising to commemorate a historical event or a date/week related to a cause important to the community.
Government Visit intake
The City of Burlington receives regular requests from governments of other cities and countries who are looking to learn more about our policies, processes, and best practices. We are happy to meet with such delegations, share information and build new relationships. Officials and employees looking to meet can request a government visit.

Submitting a meeting request will help us better understand:
- The purpose and goals of your visit
- The key learnings you are looking to gain
- The appropriate staff and stakeholders we will need to coordinate with
- What timing and logistics are involved
We will do our best to accommodate your request depending on staff availability and timing.

Pier lighting
The beacon on the Brant Street Pier is lit each night with different colours. The lighting choices are based on:
- City events
- Nationally recognized events
- Non-profit and community events
- Special requests
You can contact tributes@burlington.ca to request a pier lighting. Please send us your request at least four months prior to your event date and consult the schedule for available dates.
