A Neighbourhood Connector is a resident who makes connections between neighbours and strives to make it easier for neighbours to connect, share strategies and build relationships.
The goal of the program is to create network of Neighbourhood Connectors who can connect, engage and help each other develop their neighbourhoods. As the Municipality, we want to work with you to provide you with resources, tools, funding and a platform for you to collaborate and engage. We want to make it easier for you to continue the great work that you are already doing.

How Does it Work?
- Those who are on the Neighbourhood Connector list have access to resources, tools and a platform for engagement and collaboration.
- Neighbourhood Connectors are encouraged to reach out to each other to ask questions, share tips/tricks, and strategies.
- A City liaison is also provided to you, so that you can ask questions and receive up to date/relevant information to help you with your community projects and programs.
Building Neighbourhood Connections Leadership Course
Have you ever wondered how to improve or increase relationships in your neighbourhood? Are you interested in learning more about building connections and creating healthier communities? This is a six-week course which supports residents to become community connectors in their neighbourhood. Participants will learn about Asset Based Community Development, building relationships in their communities, how to build a team and working with the City. Participants who complete the course will receive one on one support from a City liaison as they work through the City’s Love My Neighbourhood funding program. The course registration fee will be reimbursed as a part of the final project when complete.
