The City of Burlington has nine Council-appointed advisory committees that provide feedback and input to Council.
Accessibility Advisory Committee |
The Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee advises on the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to people with disabilities in the City's bylaws, policies, programs and services. |
Agricultural and Rural Affairs Advisory Committee |
The Burlington Agricultural and Rural Affairs Advisory Committee advises and assists in the implementation of Burlington's agricultural and rural goals, objectives and policies. The committee raises community awareness and understanding of agricultural and rural issues as they relate to the City and its activities. |
Cycling Advisory Committee |
The Burlington Cycling Advisory Committee assists, advises, recommends and supports Council in matters related to cycling in the city. |
Downtown Parking Advisory Committee |
The Burlington Downtown Parking Advisory Committee advises on strategies and policies that affect the development and delivery of parking services in downtown Burlington. |

Council Remuneration Review Working Group |
The Council Remuneration Review Working Group reviews the remuneration and benefits to be paid to Council members for their four-year term of office. This practice removes politics from discussions by having an objective third party review remuneration and expenses. The working group does not have any decision-making capacity or delegated authority, except to direct staff to assist with administrative support, including the gathering of information and resource materials to assist the group with its review. |
Greater Bay Area Sub-committee |
The Greater Bay Area Sub-committee is composed of equal representation from Hamilton and Burlington and has a shared vision on priority areas, such as the environment, transportation corridors, Burlington Bay and economic development. |
Joint Compliance Audit Committee |
The City of Burlington, the Town of Oakville, the Town of Halton Hills, and the Regional Municipality of Halton have established a Joint Compliance Audit Committee. |
Mundialization Committee |
The Burlington Mundialization Committee promotes the City of Burlington as "A World Community" dedicated to the United Nations' philosophy of peaceful co-operation among the peoples of the world. The committee encourages community understanding of different cultures and global issues through its twinning program with Itabashi, Japan and Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. |
