The City of Burlington is committed to keeping our streets clear of snow and ice throughout the winter season. Each year, our fleet of snow clearing equipment and crews maintain 1,900 km of roads and 850 km of sidewalks.
Watch and subscribe to our snow control updates for alerts on when snow events occur. We provide status updates at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. during significant winter storms.
To assist with snow clearing, please move your vehicles off the road during and after snowfalls and winter storms or declared snow events. This clears the way for City snowplows and sanders to properly clear the entire road surface and apply salt or sand, as required.
If a snow event has been declared, vehicles parked on-street during a snowfall and snowfall cleanup are subject to being ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense, regardless of actual snowfall volume. View our Parking Bylaw (By-law 021-2022) for more details.
Parking on-street is not allowed until the snow event is declared over.
During and after a snow event, overnight parking in municipal parking lots between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. is not permitted.
