The City offers two pre-authorized tax payment plans:

10-Month Payment Plan |
With our 10-Month Payment Plan, payments will be withdrawn from your bank account on the first business day of each month from January to October. There are no payments in November and December. Enroll in our 10-Month Payment Plan Payment frequency and amountsWe will notify you each December and May of the amount being withdrawn from your bank account. The first five payments (January to May) will be an estimated, equal monthly amount. When the amount of the final bill is determined, the monthly payment is adjusted. The last five payments (June to October) reflect the tax rate and assessment for the year, minus the payments already received. EligibilityYou are eligible to join the 10-Month Payment Plan if your property tax account is at a zero balance. Service chargeWe apply a $45 service charge to your tax account for any payment that is returned to us by your financial institution. There is no penalty or interest charged on this plan. |
Due Date Payment Plan |
With our Due Date Payment Plan, payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the regular tax due dates shown on your tax bill in the months of February, April, June and September. Enroll in our Due Date Payment Plan EligibilityYou are eligible to join the Due Date Payment Plan if your property tax account is at a zero balance. Service and penalty chargesWe apply a $45 service charge plus penalty charges to your tax account for any payment that is returned to us by your financial institution. |
Please inform us as soon as possible if you are moving or there is an upcoming change in property ownership. If you are selling your property in Burlington, please complete our Pre-Authorized Tax Payment Plans Online Form to cancel your pre-authorized payment plan. Your property account number and pre-authorized payment plan are not transferable.

Any supplementary/omit tax bills for new construction or improvements will not be withdrawn through a pre-authorized payment plan. You must pay these bills separately.
