Burlington Teen Tour Band

The City of Burlington's Teen Tour Band (BTTB) is known globally for its level of excellence in music and marching. The BTTB is open to youth aged 13 to 21 who want to represent Canada as musical ambassadors.

Find out how to join the BTTB regardless of musical skill level. Even if they don't play an instrument, teens can still become a member by joining the colour guard.

Joining the BTTB is a unique experience for teens, and can create:

  • Character building and self confidence
  • Life-long friendships
  • Opportunities for world travel
  • Opportunities to perform in front of thousands of spectators
  • Sportsmanship
  • Teamwork and commitment

Burlington Junior Redcoats

The Burlington Junior Redcoats Band is the feeder organization of the Burlington Teen Tour Band, Canada's Musical Ambassadors.

The Burlington Junior Redcoats Band is open to children ages 9 to 13. Music students can join the band when they begin their lessons and apply their skills in a marching band.

Learn how your child can become a member of the Burlington Junior Redcoats.

Band membership runs from September to June with an annual fee. Rehearsals are Saturday mornings from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. at the Music Centre.

Burlington Teen Tour Band Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Review some of our frequently asked questions about the BTTB.

How do I become a band member?

We are always welcoming new members to the band. You can come introduce yourself at one of our rehearsals. We ask that you email us and let us know when you are planning to come. In your email, please include:
  • What day you will be coming
  • What section you are interested in joining
  • Your age
  • Your name

When you arrive, we will need a parent to fill out a contact form to get you started. If you have an instrument, bring it with you. If not, let us know and we will do our best to have one ready for you. If you are joining the Colour Guard, Drum Line or Tuba we will supply the instrument to you.
After your first rehearsal we will set up a Band orientation for you and your parent(s). We will get all the required documents signed so you can become a full member.

What are the age requirements?

The BTTB is open to those aged 13-21.

What does the membership fee include?

The membership fee fluctuates between $320 to $370 per year and includes:
  • Applicable taxes
  • Booster fee
  • Equipment rental
  • Uniform upkeep

When are rehearsals?

Rehearsals take place weekly at the Music Centre:
  • Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.
