The Greater Bay Area Sub-committee is made up of equal representation from the Cities of Hamilton and Burlington and has a shared vision on priority areas, such as the environment, transportation corridors, Burlington Bay and economic development.
The mandate of the committee is to:
- Address issues which affect both cities
- Better understand and coordinate services
- Discuss subjects in the greater bay area of mutual interest and concern
- Explore common interests
- Promote increased cooperation, synergies and efficiencies
- Strengthen the relationship between the two cities
- Work together toward shared economic prosperity

Committee representation
The committee is made up of:
- Two members from Burlington City Council
- Two members from Hamilton City Council
- Both Mayors from Burlington and Hamilton
Currently, Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and Councillors Kelvin Galbraith and Rory Nisan sit on the committee.
