The Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund provides support for community groups to build community and neighbourhood connections while enhancing parks or other public spaces.

Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund projects involve the creation of innovative and lasting work for community enjoyment and use. Projects must actively involve the local community and build neighbourhood connections.
Applications are open every year from October to February.
The City of Burlington may provide funding up to $10,000 to match volunteer time and donated contributions from the community such as volunteer time, cash donations, and in-kind contributions.

Develop a budget |
Develop a project budget that shows how you will match the city funding. A budget worksheet is included in the application form. |
Submit initial application form |
Complete the online Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund application form. |
Develop a project plan |
Prepare a project plan that includes a timeline on how you plan to complete your project within the year. A project work plan template is included in the application form. |

Funding amounts and match eligibility |
Up to $10,000 availableA maximum of $10,000 may be granted to match the equivalent contribution the neighbourhood community group makes up through a combination of any of the following:
Approved projects receive up to 50 per cent of the funding for the project from the City. The neighbourhood or community group would match this funding with an equal contribution made up through any combination of volunteer hours, donated service, donated materials and supplies or other funds raised, such as cash donations. |

Letters can be from local community or neighbourhood groups, businesses or residents living in the neighbourhood impacted by the project. InsuranceApplicants must be able to maintain third party liability insurance throughout the project in the amount of not less than $2 million. Note: if you do not have insurance, you may be able to apply for insurance protection through the City. |
