Burlington, Ont.—July 28, 2022— The City of Burlington launched a redesigned burlington.ca website to make it easier for residents and visitors to find information and access online services. This modernized site now includes burlingtontransit.ca and our calendar in one convenient location. Since the original website launched in 2015, there has been significant changes in technology. It was important burlington.ca stay current and offer the type of online services residents expect.
The redesign focused on inclusive design, which means anybody using different devices can use the site. Whether accessing burlington.ca from a laptop, tablet or phone, the website will automatically change to fit the device you’re reading it on which offers a better user experience on all devices. The redesigned website has voice search capability. Residents can enter a search term by voice rather than type it. There is also a significant reduction and reliance on PDF documents and a focus on accessible alternatives. The redesign achieves a more accessible website which follows a path to meet accessibility standards as required by the Province of Ontario.

“The City is focused on improving our customer experience across all our services areas for residents, businesses and visitors to Burlington. Our new website, along with upcoming customer counter changes at City Hall, are designed to make interactions easier and better for everyone on-line and in-person. The website offers a convenient way for people to connect with us and find out more about our services. No major updates to the website were made since launch in 2015 and we knew we had to modernize the online experience to better serve our community. We provided engagement opportunities on our web redesign concepts and City staff worked hard to create a seamless website, so you can better access what you need.”
