The City of Burlington encourages residents to enjoy fireworks safely by attending organized, licensed public displays conducted by trained professionals. These events are the safest way to experience fireworks, helping to reduce the risk of injury, fire, and property damage in our community.
The City permits the use of low-hazard consumer fireworks - often called “family” fireworks - but only under strict conditions, as they can still pose safety risks.
Noise complaints after 11 p.m. should be directed to the HRPS Non-Emergency Line at 905-825-4777.

Emergency Preparedness Week is May 4–10, 2025. Emergencies can occur in any season, and being prepared helps ensure your safety, as well as the safety of your loved ones and neighbours.
Steps to Prepare for Any Emergency: Create a Step-by-Step Emergency Plan:Involve your entire family in the planning process. Regularly update your plan, and make sure everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency. Consider scenarios like snowstorms, power outages, floods, high winds, or extreme heat.
Prepare Emergency Kits:Home Emergency Kit: Have a kit ready with essential items like food, water, medications, first-aid supplies, flashlights, and extra clothing. Keep a one-week supply of medications for family members and pets, and replace food and water as they approach expiration.
Vehicle Emergency Kit: For travel, keep a kit that includes a blanket, flashlight, non-perishable food, water, jumper cables, and a phone charger.
