
Burlington, Ont.—Sept. 15, 2022— The City of Burlington will observe the National Day of Mourning as a one-time holiday on Monday, Sept. 19, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. This day coincides with the Queen’s funeral.
Impacts to City Services
A public viewing of the Queen’s funeral will be hosted by the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) on Sept. 19. The doors will open at 5 a.m., with the funeral scheduled to start at 6 a.m. Residents are also invited to send a message of condolence through the National Electronic Condolence Book or in person at City Hall (426 Brant St.) from 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., until Friday, Sept. 16. The Book of Condolence will again be made available at BPAC on Monday, Sept. 19 for signing.
